Research! The NSW National Parks and Wildlife Service contributes to a significant amount of wildlife monitoring and research across the state.

Wildcount is a perfect example of one of their programs - with the help of volunteers, motion sensitive-cameras (as you can see here) are deployed at hundreds of sites to non-invasively get an idea of which species may be in decline and their distribution so we can best come up with management plans and prioritize areas for action.

The program has taken over one million animal photos since it started - I've included some of my favorites from past years!
